⊹ Manifesto · DevoraX2

Privacy isn't a feature.
It's a refusal.

A few words on what I believe — and what I will not do.

⊹ ⊹ ⊹

There is a way to build software that respects You. There is a way to build it that doesn't.

Most companies pick the second. They tell You it's the only way to scale, the only way to be modern, the only way to survive. They are lying — to themselves, and to You.

I'm DevoraX2. I chose the first one. Here is what that means.

01

I refuse to be a data broker.

Your messages, Your contacts, Your patterns of life — they belong to You. I will never sell them. I cannot sell them. They never reach my servers in a form that anyone but You can read. The architecture is the promise, not the privacy policy.

02

I refuse a single point of failure.

One phone, one password, one anything — that's not security, that's a Hollywood plot device. I split Your trust across two devices, because no single attack should end Your privacy. Lose one. The other is still Yours.

03

I refuse to call You a 'user'.

You're a person. You have a name, a context, a life that matters more than my daily-active-user graph. I will not optimize for Your engagement at the expense of Your peace. I will not design notifications that exploit You. I will not gamify Your attention.

04

I refuse to control the encryption.

The math that protects You is open. The implementation is open. The audit is public. If I ever asked for a backdoor, You'd see me asking — and You'd see me refusing. There is no asking. There is no pressure that produces an answer. The answer was given the day I shipped.

05

I refuse to hide my limits.

I can protect what crosses my wires. I cannot protect against a wrench, a coercive partner, a state-level adversary with infinite time. I will say so, plainly, in my own documentation. I will not pretend to be more than I am. False security is more dangerous than no security at all.

06

I refuse to grow at any cost.

I will not chase metrics that hurt You. I will not move fast and break trust. I will ship slowly, and only when the encryption is ready. I will say no to investors who don't understand the assignment. I would rather be small and right than big and rotting.

⊹ What I commit to

Six refusals.
One positive promise.

Open-source crypto core. Audit-friendly. Reproducible builds. Independent reviews on every release.
Zero ads. Zero analytics. Zero data sale. Forever. Funded only by the people I serve.
Honest about limits. What I cannot protect, I will name. Plainly. In my own documentation.
Transparent decisions. Every change that touches Your privacy is announced before it ships, not after.
Real-life threat modeling. Five-mode lock — Master, Normal, Hidden, Decoy, Panic — because life is messier than a password field.
A Guardian device. Two phones beat one. Always. I won't pretend a single point of failure is acceptable.

This is not a product launch.
This is a position.
